Four hours, a laptop, and a table that has to work
That is the afternoon Grounded is built for.
Everyone says work friendly. Nobody means the same thing.
When someone calls a café work friendly, they're telling you their afternoon went well. Theirs was an hour with a coffee. Yours is four hours, a laptop and a dying battery.
Same café. Same honest opinion. Completely different answer.
So we stopped asking whether people liked a place, and started measuring the same four things everywhere.
WiFi. Outlets. Seating. Parking.
Same four questions. Every café. Every time.
Every café gets a score out of 100, built from those four things and nothing else. Not vibes, not stars for the latte. Whether you can sit down and get your work done.
WiFi
Whether there's WiFi at all, and whether it holds up. Plus speed tests from people who were sitting right there.
Outlets
Plenty, a few by the window, or none at all. The difference between three hours and forty minutes.
Seating
How much there is, from plenty down to almost none. Whether you sit down or turn around.
Parking
Free lot, street, metered or nothing. The thing every other list leaves out, and the reason you circle the block.
Every café is measured the same way, so the number is worth sorting by. Filter for what you need today and it means the same thing everywhere on the list.

Somebody is in there right now
The score tells you what a café is set up for. The people working in it today tell you how fast the WiFi actually is, how busy it is, how loud, and whether the outlets are taken.
Nobody at Grounded scores a café from a desk.
Every score comes from someone who was actually in the room. WiFi tested on the spot. Outlets counted. A seat someone found on a Tuesday at two.
We check the things that don't change, like whether there's parking out back. We don't score the coffee.
A score isn't the whole story either. A café that was quiet in March can be all laptops by June. That's what the live conditions are for, and why something reported an hour ago beats a score from last spring.
